2. How to change Bijoy  and English Keyboard.

Bijoy 2000, 2001, 2003 versions works with Bijoy Keyboard only. However the Pro versions (Bijoy 2000 Pro, 2001 Pro and 2003 Pro) works with Muneer and National keyboards.

As soon as you install Bijoy and/or start/restart the computer, the keyboard of the computer remains in English. To
change it to Bijoy you are to type b pressing control and alt keys together.

If you want to go back to English Keyboard, than again you are to type  b pressing control and alt keys.

You can also click on the icon of the Bijoy Keyboard to change to Bijoy or English which remains at the bottom of the screen-the taskbar.

If you want to change to Muneer you will have to type ctrl, alt and k.

If you want to change to National, please type ctrl, alt and n.

If you want to change to Bijoy Biswa, please type ctrl, alt and j.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EXTRA KEYBOARDS WILL WORK ONLY IN PRO VERSIONS.

3. How to create characters not mentioned in the Keyboard Layout?

There are hundreds of Bangla characters which are not included in the Keyboard layout. It is not possible also. Those characters can be categorized in two types. There are one type of characters which are vowels and not available in the keyboard. There are other types which are not available in the keyboard and are called as  conjuncts. Please locate the g character of the English Keyboard  and mark it very carefully. In Bangla Keyboard you will find Hasant (Sangjukti) by the side of g character. It is in the second row from the bottom and its position is fifth from left. It is the most important KEY to create hundreds of Bangla characters. When you want to create a vowel character you are to type g first and than the vowel sign. You will find that the vowel character is in the document window. If you want to create a conjunct character you are to type the first character of the conjunct and than type g and than the last/second/third character of the conjunct. Two/more characters will create the conjunct. If you need to create a conjunct which has more than two characters, please type g again and than the third character. You are to type full characters of La, Ta, Na Fala. But Ra & Ja Fala can be typed directly from the keyboard.

However some conjunct characters are created by typing two characters directly.

4. How to face problems of changing characters?

If you work in Word you will notice that some characters get changed when you continue typing. Please deactivate all the spelling, auto correction, grammar options of Word. Go to the tools menu ( Word-2000), give spelling & grammar command, click on options button and uncheck all options relating to spelling and grammar. Give Auto Correct command, choose Auto Format option  and uncheck  all Replace check boxes.

If you do not follow these options you might find that some characters of Bangla are changed and Words behavior will not be proper.

5. How to work under different operating systems?

Bijoy is the most popular Bangla Software solution developed and created by Mr. Mustafa Jabbar to be working under different operating systems. There are also different versions of the software.

Bijoy-2003/ Pro will work under Windows-95, Windows-98, Windows NT 4.0 Windows 2000 and Windows XP. There are no differences in working with Bijoy Keyboard under different operating systems. You will have the same version of Bijoy-2003/ Pro working similarly under all the OS mentioned above.

However Bijoy-2003 Pro will not work under Windows 3.X as it is a 32 bit application.

6. Is it compatible with old Bijoy codes?

Bijoy-99, Bijoy-2000, Bijoy 2000 Pro, Bijoy 2001, 2001 Pro, Bijoy 2003, 2003 Pro has some characters being coded newly. There are only half a dozen characters which has changed their positions.  Therefore there will be some changes when you open an old file written in Bijoy 1.X, 2X, 3.X or 4.X fonts.

This software is compatible with all known software available at our hand. However you might find some application where Bijoy Keyboards does not work properly. Please call us to have a support from us immediately after you face such problem.

7. Which fonts?

Bijoy-99, Bijoy-2000, Bijoy 2000/ Pro,  Bijoy 2001/Pro, Bijoy 2003/Pro uses fonts which has MJ as the last characters. Old fonts will not behave correctly. Some characters will not appear properly if you use old fonts.

8. How can I convert my PC documents to Mac.

At present you can not convert your Bijoy-2003 Pro documents to Mac. You could however convert Bijoy 4.X documents to Mac Bijoy-II format if you saved it in text format.

9. Where do I get Sabrena Toony Font?

Sabrena Tonny font is the standard font for text book publishing. It has been standardized by the National Curriculum and Text Book Board, Dhaka. That font is based on certain modification of shapes of characters. You can use that font only under MacOS.
